RYCA Training Course in Bologna, 12-18 October 2024
Just wrapped up an incredible RYCA Training Course in Bologna, where young environmental advocates aged 18 to 30 gathered to learn how to mobilize their communities in the face of climate change! This transformative week, part of the Responsive Youth for Climate Action (RYCA) project, saw participants from Italy, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Spain, and Germany gaining essential skills in organizing impactful events, developing strategic plans, and mastering public relations to champion environmental issues on the local level.
Throughout the course, participants learned from esteemed experts and activists, including @europedirecter, @salviamolaghiacciaia, and @corradocolato from @xrbologna. Inspiration was also drawn from the creative works of Wu Ming II and @sineglossa_ on the Nonturismo Bologna Guide, which offered practical, locally-rooted insights for fostering collective action.
A highlight of the training was the EcoGuide Project, where participants collaborated to create region-specific guides filled with sustainable resources, eco-friendly practices, and ways to engage communities in green initiatives. These EcoGuides will soon be available online, serving as valuable tools for others committed to environmental action across Europe.
By combining new knowledge, real-world examples, and a powerful network of youth, RYCA empowers young leaders to play a direct role in advancing the EU’s Green Deal and making a tangible impact. Let’s keep the momentum going! Stay tuned for updates on the local events these participants will soon launch in their communities to continue driving meaningful change.
